Diagnostics

Radiology

X-ray Services at Park Animal Hospital

X-rays are one of the most useful techniques available for diagnosing your pet's problem quickly and efficiently. By providing an inside snapshot of your pet's body and organs, x-rays can aid in the diagnosis of orthopedic problems such as fractures and hip dysplasia, as well as arthritic changes in bones and joints. X-rays are also used to view the heart, lungs and abdomen, allowing for the diagnosis of heart disease, bladder stones, tumors and other health problems. We are equipped with the latest radiographic technology and our highly-skilled technicians are well-trained in using radiographic equipment.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound Services at Park Animal Hospital

Ultrasounds can be an important, non-invasive diagnostic tool for your pet. Used primarily for abdominal and cardiac problems, Park Animal Hospital is equipped with the latest veterinary ultrasound technology to help diagnose disease and other health problems quickly and efficiently.

Often considered more exact than x-rays, ultrasound provides our veterinarians with a real-time "movie" of what is happening inside your pet's body. Ultrasounds can provide a highly-detailed image of your pet's organs, which leads to a fast, accurate diagnosis. Because the procedure is non-invasive, anesthesia is generally not required, resulting in a less-stressful, more comfortable visit for your pet.

Diagnostic Laboratory

Sometimes a physical exam is not enough to diagnose your pet and additional diagnostic tests are required. Park Animal Hospital is equipped with a complete, state-of-the art diagnostic laboratory that allows us to measure almost 100 laboratory values, with results often available in a few minutes. We also work with several outside laboratories should your pet require specialized testing.

Heartworm testing, complete blood counts, blood-chemistry panels, urinalysis and fecal examinations are some of the many laboratory tests that we perform at the hospital. Our state-of-the-art laboratory equipment means that your pet's laboratory results are quickly available so that we can provide fast, comprehensive treatment for your pet.
